Math at West High School- A meeting was held on Monday, March 15, 2004 to discuss the introduction of Core-Pllus mathematics. This will be an experimental introduction limited to 100 students with the goal of determining if this program should be offered to the full student body. Students who sign up for Core-Plus will need to take a minimum of two years of this program. While West High Math Chair, Dean Morse, would guarantee that a traditional math curriculum would be offered for the near future, neither he nor Linda McQuillen, from Teaching and Learning, was willing to promise that a traditional math program would be available to students five years from now. Posted below are two letters to West High Math Chair Dean Morse written after this meeting.
