Budget Issues - 2007

The district needs to cut $7.2 million dollars in spending from the budget this year. Proposed cuts include 2 TAG staffers (a reduction of 28.5%) which will leave 5 TAG staff to meet the needs of an estimated 5000 high ability students, the elimination of strings in the elementary schools, one psychologist/social workers, and increases in class size.

Deja Vu all over again: previous budget issues. I find myself wondering why we bother to update this page.

The 2002 Virchow Krause Functional Analysis as it relates to the TAG program or view the entire report. The March 3 list of Budget Discussion Items makes note of the impact the cut in TAG staff will have by mentioning that there is a larger proportion of our highest achieving students represented in our non-attending/dropout population than any other group.(emphasis added)
